- Typing in the three letter Airport Code while in Google Maps will bring you to that Airport. If you’re trying to get quickly to San Diego then type SAN (San Diego Intl Airport) for example. Orbitz has a good list of airport codes here
- Someone can simply email you directions using Google Maps by clicking on the “Link to this page” option, copying & pasting that URL into an email. When you receive the link in your email on your iPhone, clicking the URL will open Google Maps on your iPhone.
General Tips
- If an application appears to freeze on the iPhone you can Force Quit apps by pressing and holding the Home button for about 6 seconds. Keeping some of these other apps closed will save on battery life.
- You cannot sync Notes with the iPhone at this time. However, if you create an empty Contact in your Address book you can use the Notes field there. While there are online alternatives, this will work regardless if you have a connection or not.
- Be sure to fill in addresses in your Address Book because tapping on the address in your contacts opens it up in Google maps.
